Destination: Gold Coast
Gosh, took me forever to upload these photos! Had my brother not bugged me to upload them, I wouldn't have done it... So time consuming! Anyway, here is a brief chronology about my trip to Gold Coast last week:
Day 1
Went over to Mayn's place at around 1.30am on Thursday. We took a cab to the airport to catch our flight, which was scheduled at 6.00am. MADNESS! We landed safely at Gold Coast at about 8am. Jen picked us up and brought us to Rish to have breakfast. YUM, loved the food there, especially the mushrooms! We had cinnamon toast, scrambled eggs + mushroom on toast and fresh juices. Proceeded back to her house to rest, and then went out to meet Mer for lunch at Southport. After that, headed to Pacific Fair to do some shopping and went home. In the evening, we played with her neighbours (Japs). Darn cute kids. Very charming, especially the tiny one.

Got ready and went for dinner at Costa Dora, this Italian restaurant at the heart of Surfers Paradise to celebrate Jesse's (Mer's bf) birthday. The food there wasn't too bad, the veal + eggplant that Mayn, Jen and I shared was good.

Mer and Jen bought Jesse this Optimus Prime carrot cake. It was by far the yummiest carrot cake I've ever had in my life. Hehe. Simply scrumptious!

The four of us plus Jen's sister, Jaclyn. We went home after dinner and proceeded to have an early night.

After that, we went to Harbour Town to do some shopping. It's like the DFOs you get here in Melbourne. That place wasn't too bad either. Managed to buy some stuff (great bargains!) but we all went bonkers inside Ralph Lauren.

If you squint your eyes hard enough, you'll be able to see the rainbow! The beach there was beautiful. So clean, so breathtaking. Anyway, we had barbequed chicken and sausages. Jaclyn made jambalaya and we bought some coleslaw from Woolsworth.

Don't know why this picture turned out blurry but here we are with Jaclyn and April (Jen and Jacs' cousin).
First round of the many, many drinks we took that night... thanks Jesse! Here we are pictured at Bedroom. It's really a lovely club, such an eye opener, because it was full of angmohs. I mean, usually in Melbourne, even the clubs we frequent are filled with Asians.

We left Bedroom at around two and proceeded to Cheerleaders. Cheerleaders is a strip club so yeah, it was another eye opener for me. My first time! The strippers weren't that hot, but no doubt, there was one or two that wasn't too bad lar. Somehow, one thing lead to another and we only left the place at about five! By the time we reached home, it was some time around 5.30 in the morning! We had a seven hour bender!

Later on, Mer joined us for coffee session at Madisons. The pastries there were uber good! We had bread + butter pudding, strawberry tart, cookie and chocolate mud cake.

They had really wild rides there and a number of funny shops. The highlight of the trip has to be us taking a picture with Batman and Robin! OMFG la... Batman was simply h-o-t!

Mayn and I outside Harry Potter's shop. Later on, we witnessed the star parade, featuring many movie characters such as:
Austin Powers!
Superhot batman!!!

Nevertheless, the time there was also spent on taking a number of shameless camwhore shots:

Pout

After that, we waited for Jen to finish work and followed her home... where we packed our bags and got ready for our flight home. Took some pictures with Jesse, Jaclyn and her bf, Billy.

Again, Jen cooked us yee mee (very tasty!) for dinner. Really really admire her culinary skills! She can always whip us up something so easily (without following any recipes and all that) and yet, it always taste so good.

After dinner, we cleaned up and the both of them (Mer and Jen) fetched us to the airport. We boarded the 9.35pm plane (almost missed it!!) and reached Melbourne at approximately 11.35pm.

Woke up and headed to Broadbeach for dim sum @ Ming Palace.
The food at Ming Palace wasn't too bad either. We had the typical stuff you eat at dim sum: Siu mai, har kau, porridge, egg tarts etc.

After that, we went to Harbour Town to do some shopping. It's like the DFOs you get here in Melbourne. That place wasn't too bad either. Managed to buy some stuff (great bargains!) but we all went bonkers inside Ralph Lauren.
For dinner, we all (*ahem* particularly Jen and Mayn) cooked. We made fried wantan, bean curd skin soup with tofu, scrambled eggs with minced meat, steamed wax sausages, stir fry beef with ginger and spring onion and chinese cabbage with prawns. It was delish!!
Baked cupcakes early in the morning. I finally know how to make the perfect icing for cupcakes! I must say, I'm very pleased with the end result. Although the cupcakes were completely drained in "hundreds and thousands", it looked and tasted great!
Then, we took Jesse's car out to Spotlight to get some balloons for his party later in the night.
As you can see, we had ten balloons in the back seat, completely blocking Mayn and I. We felt so claustrophobic! After getting them, we headed home to change and went to The Spit for barbeque!

If you squint your eyes hard enough, you'll be able to see the rainbow! The beach there was beautiful. So clean, so breathtaking. Anyway, we had barbequed chicken and sausages. Jaclyn made jambalaya and we bought some coleslaw from Woolsworth.

Got home in the evening and had a rest before getting ready to hit the clubs. It was Jesse's birthday celebration, so we went to the Bedroom. Before leaving, we drank some lovely Moet and Chandon champagne, courtesy of Jen. It was lovely.

I mean, usually in Melbourne, even the clubs we frequent are filled with Asians. Jen bought this "pimp" cup to celebrate the occasion, so it was obviously one of the highlights of the night. Everyone wanted to take a picture with the bling cup!

... and myself! Ha!

Day 4
Since everyone was tired and all that, we stayed in the whole day and only left at night to had dinner at Hooters. Hmmm Hooters was a disappointment because the girls there weren't that hot after all (no big boobs either!). Plus, the service wasn't too good and the food was only average.

Later on, Mer joined us for coffee session at Madisons. The pastries there were uber good! We had bread + butter pudding, strawberry tart, cookie and chocolate mud cake.

Day 5
Woke up early and headed to MovieWorld.

Superhot batman!!!After MovieWorld, we figured we still had time left, so we went home and changed into our beach attire and went off to Surfers Paradise beach.

Nevertheless, the time there was also spent on taking a number of shameless camwhore shots:
Look away
PoutAfter the beach, we went home to prepare for dinner and this time around, Jen whipped up a very very sedap dan lazat indian meal for all of us!
Day 6 (Unfortunately, last day)
Mayn and i met up with Trace for lunch at Circle on Cavill. We lunched at Kamikaze, this japanese restaurant. The food there was good too.
After lunch, we went walking around Surfers Paradise once again, before boarding a bus to Pacific Fair. There, we walked around before Trace went off to work.

After that, we waited for Jen to finish work and followed her home... where we packed our bags and got ready for our flight home. Took some pictures with Jesse, Jaclyn and her bf, Billy.

All in all, I had a lot of fun this trip... The most important thing was I got to meet up with my friends again (after what seemed like FOREVER!) and I'm glad we are all still so close. Jen and Mer, thanks for making our trip so enjoyable!!
And to Clairebear, we all wished you were here too!!
