Back To Basics
Here i am with a blog! The purpose is that my friends can view this and sort of roughly know what's happening in my life here in melbourne when we are just too busy to catch up with each other. :)
Today has been an extremely unproductive day. Firstly, much love to ai ling for inviting us over to your place for that lovely lunch. Both hers and ai jet's cooking were good and i must admit, as much as i dislike chinese-herbal soup/chicken or chinese wine with chicken or whatchamacallit (did i get VJ xan correctly?), i enjoyed eating the chinese-herbal-soup-cum-chicken-chinese-wine and i drank such a big bowl that i felt so bloated after that! Sort of enjoyed the company, funny people talking about studies to ghost stories to personal hygiene... *lol* After the whole hoopla, mayn, edwin and i proceeded to maxim @ lt bourke street to buy cakes and egg tarts!! It is the loveliest egg tart one can get here and we are all so sad that they are going to increase their price this coming monday. As if charging $1.20 for something that you can gobble down within 20 seconds is not enough! Dropped by this jap place at melbourne central to ta pau curry katsu for linda.
Came home and berselamba for awhile.
Left at 7pm to meet priscilla and yenshan for dinner at ye shanghai. First time dining there. Good food but i swear it was the spiciest ma bo tofu i've ever had in my life!! It was so spicy and pepper-ish that once all of us tasted it we went, "Wahhhh damn hot weiiiii!" and started sipping the tea. Throughout the meal we went "hot hot!" or making funny noises and started sweating... But the pork was good! They called it "typhoon-shelter style" and i'm like wtf? Whatever it is, it was good. I enjoyed the stuff on top of the pork and mayn couldn't believe it that i enjoy eating capsicum. ;) So after eating, we sat down for quite some time drinking tea and just talking away and ambitious-greedy me thought i could go for nam loong char siew pau but in the end.. i just couldn't. After dining, priscilla suggested that we go to freddo's for gelati, well for ice-cream, i will! So we took a walk to lygon st. I had my fav cookies with chocolate and who eat's DURIAN-flavoured gelati/gelato(plural-singular??)?? Edwin reckons it is the "best" durian ice-cream ever but it stinks big time for me! Ooops. Sorry ya'll durian lovers out there! Met kenix and her friend there so we all sat down to bergossip for awhile before coming home... So tired! Tired yet enjoyable! :)
